Day 1: The Wilderness

Post by abbott1126 »

The wilderness represents darkness, drought, waterlessness, barrenness, danger, roadlessness, and so on. In short, if you don't prepare well before entering the wilderness, you are entering a place of death. In the same way, human life will also be in the wilderness, whether it is life, work, family, ministry, spirituality, etc., it will be like walking in the dark, helpless, and dangerous wilderness, facing unexpected crises at any time. When we are confronted with the threat of nature's wilderness, we expect to see the oasis in front of us, which represents life and hope. When we are faced with the threat of the wilderness of our lives, who is the oasis in the wilderness of our lives? The Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, facing all the difficulties, and only God provided them with everything they needed, protected and led them out of the wilderness, and God was the oasis of the Israelites, as declared in Deuteronomy 8:2-3:
And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. (Deut. 8:2-3)
Therefore, when facing the wilderness of life, our only reliance and salvation is God Himself, although the wilderness is terrible, but the wilderness is also the place where God is present, and God is the oasis in our wilderness life.
