Leadership by walking around (LBWA) is a powerful way to lead a group or church. It is showing you care by your presence. When the leadership shows up and watches, it is showing with your feet that what the people are doing is important. With some of the ministries that I lead, if the lead pastor or the elders never come to make an appearance, the followers will not see it as a valuable ministry. Most of the time I know that there is not enough time in a day to get all that is needed done. So just like last week when Matthew, the Lead Pastor, came to the graduation for our Stephen Ministers. What a statement of support! Just showing up can make a difference. When a leaders walks around it is a powerful pull of personal presence. |
