We need to have a deep desire to care for others. Sometimes we just have empathy or sympathy for others in need. This is not what God is calling us to do. He wants us to care for others when a need is identified. Sympathy does nothing for the need of another person. Jesus had compassion for others; then he did something to address that need. This is a good model for us! We need do more than just identify the need and have empathy. We need to show compassion!
