Am I my scattered Seeker?

Post by dcook@GCTS »

I live in Missouri. Thus, I exist to the northeast of Oklahoma. When Thunder and Twisters move through that besieged area my heart races but my eyes are glued to the weather channel. I wish I could pray every storm away...
But I can't
And they come.
And I have to make a decision what to do in the midst of fearless showers and life-sucking clouds.
Ever notice that most churches exist in their own tornado alleys? Some thrive on the storms of conflict, the life-sucking clouds of pride, the torrential immaturity that "reigns," constantly.
And Pastors sense with beating hearts that storms are on the horizon..
Most glue their eyes to scripture.
We wish we could pray every storm away...
But, we can't
And they come...
I love the quote in this chapter, "In the morning they went searching for the hired hand who had deserted them in their hour of need. They were understandably angry! He was hiding behind the baker's oven in a nearby village, afraid they would take His life. And they could have. He had run when they needed him most."
O Lord give me courage to withstand the storms that will come. Grant me grace to stand with you while troubles are literally sucking the life out of me. Grant me wisdom to expect the storms and more ,when I should bear up or loose up. When I should fight the good fight or look for a baker's oven.
