Messiah prototypes

Prototypes…
The Biblical prototypes used point to the reader how God will use this occupation to demonstrate Himself as the shepherd/leader to His chosen people. Laniak focus is placed on two of Old Testament leaders whom YHWH chose to be under shepherds to execute particular duties with him YHWH serving as Chief Shepherd.
It is interesting to note that both Moses and David received training as care takers of sheep which lend to the greater call that God would have them do in the lives of his people Israel. Although Moses was brought up in a palace, it was during his occupation as a care taker of his father-in-law flock that he was called by God to deliver his people from the hands of Pharaoh. Here we see Moses serving as a shadow leader taking direct instructions from YHWH.
The story of David being chosen as king of Israel has a similar pattern. When Samuel arrived at Jesse’s house the young David was in the field protecting his father’s sheep. This practical responsibility of caring for animals, who are elsewise vulnerable to the predators which can impose havoc at any given time, requires the leader to be cognizant and ready to protect his flock at all cost.
This wilderness leader and palace ruler are great examples of when we are called by God and remain obedient and humble, that God will work through us the mighty miracles as he did with Moses and the Red Sea crossing and David in winning the many battles. However these prototypes also learned hash lessons which came about as a result of not obeying the Chief Shepherd.
