Identity of god-man shepherd in Ezekiel 34.

If I understand the promises that God Himself would shepherd His flock and the promises that His servant David would shepherd them in face value, somehow a god-man is in view. Of course, He would not raise David from the head to lead the Israelites again but rather, someone from David's descendants would come lead His people. I wonder how Ezekiel's audience would understand the identity of this "David". Another Messianic Passage? If then, this passage is basically related to Jesus' first earthly ministry or more like His second advent as you explained (pp.160-161)?
