The Staff

The staff is a help and a rescue tool. First, I see God using the staff to help me guide people into deeper relationship with other believers. One of the best tools we have now is our Discipleship ministry. This is a one-on-one relationship that helps the new believer get grounded in their walk with Christ. Even though we use the booklets to direct the relationship, we teach them to focus on the relationship, not just answering the questions. This also helps them have someone they can turn to in hard times. Second, I use my staff to rescue those who are caught in traps. These are traps of sin or pain that they cannot get out of easily. This means I set them up with others who can walk down the road with them. Like a financial counselor who helps them see the way and directs them to know God’s word.
