The Center of Biblical Tension

Robertson McQuilkin, who was president of Columbia Bible College and Seminary (Columbia, SC) during the years I studied there, memorably said, "It is easier to go to a consistent extreme than to remain at the center of biblical tension." So it is with the shepherd's “nurturing and compassionate provision and “vigilant and courageous protection." It reminds me of Dobson's "love" and "control" in raising children. Tim's right. The balance is elusive and rare. I need to be constantly reminded of the need for this balance.
