How many of us have found ourselves going though this. We may never take care of livestock and worry about the terrors of the night, but we all experience those seasons of darkness in our lives and ministeries. For some of us, it might be a shift in the ministry and being uprooted and replanted in a strange new area that we might not be happy. For others, it might be leaving everythign that is safe and comfortable and leaving the prosperiety of the United States to go to a foreign counrty for a time. In our lives, it may be anhting from illness to the realization that a marriage is over. Whatever the cause of the darkness, we can always know that Christ is with us during this time and is closer to us than He would be during those times when all is right with the world. As with all those who have gone before us, God will allow us to encounter darkness in our lives, but will never allow us to be taken further than He knows we are able to sustain.
